Protein Shakes!

Should I have a protein shake after my run?

Have a look at your entire day’s nutrition and then let’s see how a protein shake fits in to your diet.

I had the opportunity to write for Women’s Running UK about Juice Plus+ Perform Protein shakes, a shake with a PLUS!

How does a protein shake fit in to support running? Is a protein shake the answer?

One of Juice Plus+’s latest products is Juice Plus+ Perform. These shakes incorporate 25g of plant based protein along with vitamins and minerals that not only support muscle growth and maintenance, but support energy production and mental performance. This is key when you want to stick with a workout program like running. You need energy… you need mental game and to build and maintain lean muscle.

So, do protein shakes work?

Every body is unique. My suggestion is to be curious and explore, as your body doesn’t lie.

  1. Do you workouts without a protein shake for a week, so you have a baseline of how you feel, what body sensations you have and energy levels.

  2. The following week, add a protein shake like Juice Plus+ Perform either before or after your workout. Take note of the same sensations, feelings and energy levels.

  3. Reflect, is this product helping me or supporting me? Do I feel a difference in my digestion, energy levels, muscles?

  4. You may have an immediate response with energy and digestion, but muscles may take time, so be patient.
